Even though Friday’s Addington meeting is a curtain raiser to the glories of NZ Cup week Nathan is confident there are some good things happening for the Purdon stable who feature in numbers through the card. Some of his observations;
Carrera Rapido (R3.5.39pm) Gate 13. Odds $2.80.Driver Blair
“He’s a nice horse.I don’t think he is going to find Cup Day class easy but he is up to winning this. The gate is no help but might work out ok.
Franco Indie (R4.6.07pm) 5. Blair $4.80
“I think he’s back.He came out of Methven with a virus and probably raced with it.He tied up quite badly and we had to ease him but he is working up well. The Junior FFA could be in his sights if he goes well here and I expect him to, and with further improvement to come”
Look To Da Stars (R5:6.35pm) Unruly 1. Blair. $6
“He has been showing what I have expected from him right through and not too worried about the unruly in a race like this. He just has to have the luck to avoid trouble and do his thing. Up with the best of these if its his night”
We Walk by Faith (1) Devon van Till $7 Major Hot (5) Blair $5.50,Chase a Dream (6) Olivia $1.85.7.07pm
“I think I might be with Major Hot in this one. He had a foot issue which sidelined him from the Harness Millions but it may have been a blessing in disguise.It means he has come on well from his last run at Ashburton. Chase a Dream hasn’t had a race for a few weeks so will show the most improvement out of this.You can never count him out even then but Major Hot is some value”
Amore Infida (2) Blair $8.50 and Luvstruck (5) Olivia $12 8;07pm
“Amore Infida is a developing talent.She wasn’t bought as a star but she has improved and I think she can improve further. Some smart ones to measure up to here.
Luvstruck is difficult to assess. This is a drop back for her .Both in her work and on raceday though you can’t be quite sure she is going to do it right and those sort are hard to train. If she turned up with her best she is in it but you have to take the risk she will.
