After Addington tonight our focus turns north and we have seven horses leaving on Tuesday for Pukekohe where they will be based at Lincoln Farms. There will be half a dozen others going up later. I am going with up there with them and I will be back and forward for quite a while though mainly based up there. James and Andie will be going up initially too and Nathan also has the sales to cover and the Grins Pace and Trot races come up in April.
There is a Auckland meeting next Friday that is a leadup to the Harness Millions the following week.
I am one to worry about what is happening at home when I am away but I am looking forward to this trip.
OSCAR is back tonight and he seems ready to go a big race. His work has been good and he has had no issues at all which is always the best thing going for him. He has another good race next week too.
The two three year olds are actually hard to assess and I don’t think there is much if anything between them in this race because of the gates. MOMENTS LIKE THIS has a tricky one and will have to do some work at some time during the race. Natalie is back and that will be a plus. She is one headed to Auckland next week and is a promising filly who can work in a race and still win it. MAJOR HOT has a harder gate on paper and much will depend on the run he gets
We have always rated Major Hot mainly because of his work. His track times are always good and can be brilliant. The thing we like tonight is that Tim Williams drove him in his trial last and gave him a very good report. So on that he could be some value.
