LADY DI looks ready to win her debut in the Young Guns heat at Alexandra Park tonight but don’t be surprised if longer odds stablemate PRINCESS KREKA has something to say about it before the race is over.
Both fillies are aiming at the G1 Final in six weeks and ready to take a long step along the way tonight but there is less between them than there was thought there would be even six weeks ago.
“Lady Di has had the two trials whereas Princess Kreka has only had one and you would favour her on that score. She is a compact filly ready to go and I am sure will measure up to Group One class later on” Nathan said
“Princess Kreka has taken us a little by surprise. She has just had the one trial and from that point of view is in the deep end a little bit but she just keeps getting better. She didn’t shape as Group One material even as recently as a month or so ago but she has impressed the way she is progressing to the stage where now we are confident she will be”
Mark steers Lady Di while Andre has the ace gate with Princess Kreka.
Lady Di is raced by the Whitelocks a force of strength in the G1 breeding and racing ranks for a long time now. But Princess Kreka has “in form” connections too.
Steve Byrne,Steve Thompson and Bruce Irvine lead her syndicate of owners and of course raced another useful filly called Millwood Nike
