Friday marked the last day of Carolyn Carney’s long service as secretary to to All Stars and Purdon Racing winding up with Mark after concluding work with Nathan earlier.

Carolyn joined the then All Stars Racing back in 2011 through the auspices of Steve Byrne, then and still a Purdon Racing owner  whom she met through business.

“I was at a turning point in life and looking for a change. It must have been 10 months later Steve contacted me with a suggestion I apply to Mark and Natalie.”

Carolyn was associated with th stable through the halcyon years, when the team was large and things were extremely busy around the office much of the time. There was stable travel and owners relationships to deal with beside the everyday accounts side of the business.

She always enjoyed a good relationship with the various partnerships in that time but the move by Nathan and Mark to the North Island which meant  that was where their major interests were based brought a differen perspective.

“I worked from home then which was really good. But I am ready for another challenge now and so far so good” Carolyn said.

It certainly is a new challenge. She is has taken up an administrative role at the Christchurch hospital.

“Totally different and I have been in a steep learning curve with new skills to master but it is shaping up well. The only blip was I got sick on just my second day. I just swallowed lots of pills and carried on. All good now.”

The fact she has been at Rolleston so long speaks volumes for her effieciency and she leaves with the thanks of Mark and Nathan who are following new directions.

Ashley will take over secretarial duties for Nathan’s operation with Mark easing back from full engagement in the industry currently.
