He is not up to Grand Prix level just yet and will undoubtedly improve with the run but quite a lot may still rest on ANDRETT’S form when he resumes at Cambridge tonight.

The handsome, highly priced yearling, has not lived up to the potential so far but Nathan hopes he is on the right track to help do so.

“I don’t  think he can beat Cran’s horse (Freeze Frame) but he has done it right in  the leadup and Dad will probably look for a strong finish from him. If he could run second that would be like a win for us. In his favour is that he does go well fresh”

Andretti has been winning his workouts by design as part of a plan to boost confidence and rates an upset at his best

ARDEN’S MEMORY starts off the programme for the stable and like the others has longer term goals in view.

“It’s a field she is capable of beating but with some smart ones there and I will be asking Brooke to look for a softer run in transit with her as a freshener.”

Arden’s Memory trialled behind race rival Francent recently and is likely to be on hand next week so tonight is a stepping stone whatever the result.

Nathan himself takes the drive on DREAM LIGHT which is at short odds in a small field in the 9.54.

“I am looking forward to it actually. It will be good to get the colours back on. It’s been a while”

But there are more serious reasons for it too.

“She has been a difficult filly to organise at times. She does things wrong and sometimes she has been a little short of enthusiasm in her racing so we have been working on that. Good enough to win it though I will be happy if she just does it right all  the way”
