Its not all about the race.
Its the trip down and back as well.
Nathan is under no illusions about the task Pepinyastep faces tonight at Cambridge and the fact he is taking the reins himself is the clue to what he expects.
“It’s a tough ask of course racing against older horses in a two year old debut” Nathan said”Dad is away on holiday at the moment otherwise he would have been in the cart but I am looking forward to seeing what the filly does. If she is running home nicely that will be a pass mark for me. No More Dreaming looks very hard to beat in a race like this”
“As I have said I am looking for a run which will encourage me to aim at a race like the Caduceus (2yo fillies) in September up here. With expected improvement from now I am hoping she would be competitive in a race like that and there are not a lot of locals showing out yet.
Everything she has done has been here at Pukekohe just walking out of the barn to the track. So it will be interesting to see how she handles a trip away and how she will race off it.So there is plenty to learn from tonight”
