2 wins and a second has been a good result for Nathan’s Australian campaign in the last week. High Energy (Shepparton) and High Step (Cranbourne) posted comfortable wins while We Can Have It All was the warm favourite but had to settle for second in her VicBred Trotting Series heat on Monday-good enough for driver Greg Sugars at this stage of her prep.- remembering that the mile rate was close to and better in some cases , to the older horses racing on the day.Given Sherlock’s earlier win things have started well in the campaign

High Energy becomes the first Purdon stable runner in Victoria in three years when she lines up in the Shepperton Oaks at Shepparton on Friday.
She is one of the team of four Nathan has based at Jess Tubb’s stable and her husband Greg Sugars will drive the Father Patrick filly who seems the likely favourite.

However the gate 11 in a preferential draw based on wins for High Energy will be a factor in a big field of young trotters. With 6 wins from 7 starts she is the best performed runner in the $A12,000 event.
Her main rival would appear to be drawn in next to HIgh Energy in Our Mavella a Love You filly trained by Brent Lilley with Chris Alford in the cart.
Sherlock, the only pacer in the Purdon team, begins his Vicbred campaign in a heat of the series next week.
