It was a real shame about Millwood Nike we were so looking forward to seeing her in the Oaks on Sunday and it is always tough to lose the good ones. That has been the tough part of our week.
However we still have her which is important to us and she is bright and happy while the discussions about her future are held.tt
Sunday is our last huge day for the year and one I like on the day is MADRID. She is not as brilliant as some out of the gate so will have to find somewhere to slot in.
But if she gets in the right place she can be a threat. She tries really hard and always goes a good race.
We are pleased with our yearlings going into the new season. We had a group running down our straight track this week and running down to 1.03 for the 800m.
That is good work for them at this stage. Some will go on to trial and from there some will ease and some go on to the next stage. But at this stage things are looking really good with them
Nathan and I are due to fly out to Queensland next week and we are looking forward to a break. The only trouble for me is that I can’t help still thinking about what is going on at home.
I can’t just switch off like many people but I am still going to enjoy the trip
