Nathan is not writing off RUBIRA’S return to racing as a winning turn by any means in the Diamond Creek Oamaru Juvenile Stakes at that track on Sunday but wonders what the official odds might be compared to where he sits.
“I can see he will probably be the favourite at around $3 but I would rate him in the $5-6 range. He has come up well and had the trials, can win definitely, but he is still a bit round and has plenty of improvement there”
Nathan considers the somewhat surprise packet earlier in the season has gone on to better things and is the “bench mark” for stablemates. He steered him himself into a quite finish at last week trials and is happy with the youngster but only as far as that goes with long term goals the aim.
FIVE CROWNS (pictured_ who ran home strongly in his latest trial and has a win on the board is sharp off the gate and that is expected to be his strength on Sunday.
“I could see him going out of the gate with his early pace and spreading them out a bit.”
DEMON BLUE is the stable “sleeper” on the day Nathan feels.
“Has come up well and working a treat. Maybe a bit underrated and a contender here at better odds maybe”
