The most expensive of the three lots Mark bought at Karaka recently will be raced by a Purdon family partnership.
Owen,Barry, Mark and Suzanne (Herlihy) will share in the development of the $200,000 Savabeel colt who leaves for “school” from All Stars on Wednesday to be broken in by Danny Frye.
“Danny is expecting to have him for about 5 weeks ” Mark said on Friday.
“It used to be longer but he feels that with the learning yearlings do these days before the sales it is a little quicker now.Barry was always going to be in him and it is terrific the others have come in.A real family affair”
The colt,showing a light bandage where he clashed with a fence but fully fit and well,was preparing for his next adventure and while he may not be the first to race under Mark’s colours as official trainer, he will attract a lot of interest over the next 12 months.
